The Battle Of The Sexes is alive and well.
  Despite centuries of prolonged effort, and some small progress, the gender
war wages on. Women still complain that they are being discriminated against,
men still mistreat women in many parts of the world, and neither side seems
to be willing to relent.
  There are still many women all over the world who feel that all men are
pigs; That men are insensitive, unintelligent, obnoxious beasts. Meanwhile,
there are still too many men around the world who give those women good
reason to maintain that belief.
  The gender war is a war of ignorance. If men and women could make an effort
to understand each other better, to accept their differences and try to get
along, the issue would be non-existant. Instead, they cling to their
short-sightedness, unable (or rather, unwilling) to understand the opposite
sex. And so the misunderstandings lead to fighting.
  If either side would back down, the fight would be over. If men stopped
saying "women are bitches" or women stopped saying "men are pigs", there
would be no war. In a perfect world, both sides would be willing to make
peace.
  Instead, neither is. And so, foolish pride wins out again.
